Beer Bellies on Bikes 10

Above are a few images of our 10th Anniversary Cycle which we completed on Saturday 25 August 2018 after 7 days in the saddle.  Our route took us 588 miles across the highlands and islands of north-west Scotland, meeting lots of generous and welcoming locals who helped fill our collecting cans.  Apologies if most of the photos feature us eating – we did burn a bit of it off on the way!

Details of the route and our cause below.

The 10th Anniversary Cycle

Kicking off on Sunday 19th August, this year’s cycle marks the 10th Anniversary of our cycling adventures and so we’ve signed up to our most challenging route yet. We’re covering a lot of old ground from previous tours starting from Hamilton and stopping on Jura, Mull, Skye, Lewis, Fort Augustus and finishing off on Bute, rattling our tins wherever we go. The trip will cover over 550 miles over 7 days, so we are expecting significant pain!

We will be fundraising for our old teammate Stevie Law who has been bravely fighting Multiple Sclerosis (MS) for over 10 years now. Stevie suffers from the rarest form of this life-limiting, debilitating disease called Primary Progressive MS and he is confined to a wheelchair. Unfortunately, the treatment options available in this country are very limited for the stage of his condition. We are therefore raising money to help him return to a clinic in Kiev for Stem Cell treatment which has previously given him significant relief from the symptoms of the condition. Sadly this is not a cure but we hope this treatment will help him fight the disease.
